I smoke tobacco and marijuana. I only want to quit smoking. Is that possible?

Quitting marijuana and quitting tobacco are two distinct decisions and goals. This guide focuses on helping you remain nicotine-free, even if you choose to continue smoking marijuana.

The short answer is, that you can choose to smoke marijuana as long as you don’t mix it with tobacco.

Continuing to mix tobacco with marijuana after quitting smoking, even on an occasional basis, is guaranteed to sabotage your success. This is because:

Physical Addiction: Any intake of nicotine reinforces your body’s dependence on it, keeping you physically addicted. Mixing marijuana with tobacco, therefore, keeps your addiction alive. Maintaining the nicotine addiction, even at lower levels, prolongs the nicotine withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and healing period.

Mental Addiction: As long as nicotine enters your body, your mental addiction will also remain active. Mental addiction is how much you believe you enjoy or need nicotine and how ingrained this substance is in your life. If you catch yourself thinking that you need tobacco to smoke marijuana, this is a craving thought and a symptom of mental addiction.

Putting nicotine in your body, even occasionally, will eventually lead you back to your habitual nicotine consumption. To understand why this happens, please watch day 11 video 5 “Occasional Smokers” https://cbqmembers.com/lessons/5-occasional-smokers/
